Pasbane-e-Haram
A mosque is more than just a place for worship. It is a place for Muslims to congregate and pray together every day, to study and discuss Islam, and even a place for religious festivals and gatherings. It is a place that symbolizes the beauty and grace of the Islamic culture and its traditions.
The Pasban Group consider the building of the Jamia Masjid Pasban-e-Haram to be one of their worthiest endeavours and achievements to date. This beautiful mosque serves as a demonstration of the perseverance of its patrons and the blessings of the Almighty. The handsome building covers an area of two canals where more than a thousand people can pray at a time. It has two floors and a basement, and is located within the Pasban Technical Training and Welfare Institute, where it is one of the central hubs of activity. It is visited regularly both by people from within the Centre as well as from outside.
The mosque provides excellent accommodations for people in I´tikaf, providing quarters and meals for Sehr and Iftar throughout Ramadan. In regular months, supper is provided every evening after prayers.
One of the most important activities that take place at the mosque is the Tafseer-ul-Qura´an classes. It is absolutely necessary for all Muslims, young and old alike, to be aware of the word of Allah Almighty. These Tafseer classes aim to bring to its subjects the exact teachings of Islam with direct interpretation and explanation of the Qura´anic versus.
The Pasban-e-Haram mosque also conducts Hifz-ul-Qura´an classes for young children, with the most excellent and devoted teachers guiding them along every step. Qirat (the recitation of the Holy Qura´an), being one of the most important skills of an accomplished Muslim scholar, is also taught at the mosque. The teacher of Qirat at Pasban-e-Haram is a renowned Qari and has won multiple accolades for his beautiful recitation.
Along with the learning and recitation of the Qura´an, lectures on the Seerat-e-Nabwi are also held at the mosque, which teach students everything about the Islamic way of everyday life learnt directly from the life of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. These lectures and teachings inculcate a spirit of Islamic morals and ethics within the students, especially the young boys from the Pasban Technical Training and Welfare Institute. It is the goal of the Pasban Group to make a change for the better by honing the younger generation of the society and there is no better way than to teach them with the example of the beloved Prophet who was the epitome of morals, ethics, conscientiousness and integrity.
For anyone interested in a more thorough study of the religion, there is an excellent library that holds all of the most notable Islamic texts by renowned scholars. The library is open to all people at all times for the perusal of Islamic knowledge. Interested students are encouraged to read as much as possible andare also given writing exercises on Islamic topics, to refine their writing, studying and researching skills. Moreover, there is a regular speech competition that is held to improve the debating skills, oratory skills and confidence of young boys, so that in the future they can go on to be a positive influence on all those around them.
With all these efforts, it is our goal to add a ray of enlightenment to our society and be a force for good. It is our hope and prayer that this Mosque can prove to be a Sadqa-e-Jaria for the Pasban Group and that God will accept this effort and allow it to continue to be a beacon of light in this society.
